The Sport Orthotics team have a wealth of experience in orthotics and biomechanics and have collectively over 25 years experience in both the NHS and private practice. Sport Orthotics was started in 2007 and began life as part of ATHelite running and triathlon store in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire near Glasgow. This has now expanded into our newest clinic in the Heart of Glasgow city centre.
Given the background of the team it is of no surprise that they are the preferred orthotic providers of a large number of running clubs, SPL and SFL football teams, rugby clubs and other professional sportsmen.
We see people of all levels of activity from the professional athelite to people simply wishing to be a little more comfortable in their daily activities.
Our commitment to constantly trying to improve what we do and our desire to be the best has led to us being awarded the whatclinic.com 5 star award and also the 3 best rated which recognises the top e rated clinics in our area

Meet the Team
Robbie Rooney PGCert, BSc (Hons) MBAPO
Robbie is a specialist in Orthotics & Biomechanics and has been a clinician for 19 years., working in both the NHS and private sector.
During this time he has been consultant Orthotist to Motherwell FC as well as other professional footbal clubs.
Robbie works with foot and ankle Surgeons, Physiotherapists and Podiatrists in both the NHS and private sector to establish
He is also currently the external examiner for the Strathclyde University BSc (Hons) undergarduate programme for Prosthetics & Orthotics
Chris Cox BSc (Hons) MBAPO
Chris qualified with a 1st class honours degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Chris has expert skills in Orthotic manufacturing and biomechanics due to the time spent working in this specialist field. He has worked at the Treatment Hub clinic since it's inception in 2012, and continues to work in the NHS within specialist foot and ankle orthopaedics.
He has been selected for the national MSK training programme where he will be responsible for training NHS clinicians in Orthotics and Biomechanical assessment theory.
He has a keen interest in sports biomechanics and never stops reading up on the latest biomechanical theory.
Adam El Shafei BSc (Hons) MBAPO
Adam qualified with a 1st class honours degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. Adam specialises in sport biomechanics and the use of video gait analysis.
He works within a variety of specialist foot and ankle clinics within the NHS as well as his private practice. Adam has developed a lower limb specilist practice and is an orthoaedic trainer withinthe NHS in orthopaedic trauma services.
Like the rest of the team Adam also manufactures all of his prescription custom orthotics in our lab and has been with the team for a number of years.
